What are implants made of?
Modern implants are made of titanium, this material has the ability to bind to living tissues, especially bone. The direct structural and functional connection between bone and implant surface is named osseointegration. And modern implants are called osseointegrated implants.
Placement – implantation
For successful implantation a specialist’s coordination is necessary. The detailed clinical and radiographic examination of each clinical case ensures a good prognosis.
The anesthesia and hygienic requirements during implantation are the same as that required for any other oral surgery.
Following surgical placement-implantation is either the direct placement of the final prosthesis or the implants remain buried under the gums for a healing period lasting from 3 to 6 months and then, the permanent prosthesis is placed.
In the meantime, temporary prosthetic restorations are placed until the final ones are ready!
