It is a very common question for us dentists, how long do the whitening treatment results last? Well, it is actually on your hands!
Whitening your teeth is a not a permanent process and repetition is necessary.
The longevity of the results depends upon all the foods and beverages to which your teeth are exposed.
If for example in your everyday life you are smoking and drinking caffeine, in about one month you will have to repeat the whitening process. If, however, you avoid beverages and foods that ‘color’ your teeth, the results will last approximately one year.
The degree of whitening varies from person to person depending on the condition of the teeth, the level of pigments in the surface of teeth and type of whitening system used.
